Glasgow Roses
Fragments of fabric coloured with plant materials and images relating to the Loch Katrine Aqueduct. Hand stitched predominantly with hand coloured yarn. The symbol at the top right relates to the the ‘rose’ on the finials of any railings relating to the original Loch Katrine Aqueduct and are a sign that the water flows nearby, even if it is underground, glimpses of the urban in the wilderness of the Trossachs. Sadly, when the metalwork is being renewed, it is now being replaced with simple stainless steel scaffolding, losing the charm of the original.
