Desire Lines IV is the latest repetition of an ongoing series exploring grouped repeated actions  like walking, drawing and stitching and how small actions when joined together create something much more meaningful.

Desire lines are paths created by people actually walking rather than following official paths.  The layers of connecting networks on this piece are taken from ink runs on an ongoing series of work of ink, appliqué and stitch on canvas based on old patterns.  The ink runs across the canvas, going where it wants to rather than where it should, distorting the pattern, creating new pathways and connections.
